Daniel Aboagye Profile
Daniel Aboagye, MBA, CPA, Bsc. Admin.

In 2007, after 7-8 years of working as a microfinance practitioner in various capacities (both in the field and in the fund raising / management sides of microfinance), Daniel founded MGI Investments Ltd. to help cater for the real financial and managerial needs of small and medium size businesses in Africa beginning with Ghana. Daniel is the Founder, Chairman & President of MGI Investment Ltd - a microfinance company catering for the financial and management needs of small and medium size businesses in Ghana.

Before setting up MGI Investments Ltd, Daniel worked as a Project Manager for Africa and Asia for Opportunity International (OI) based in Oak Brook IL, USA. OI is one of the leading microfinance development organizations in the world with over 50 partners in more than 30 countries. At Opportunity, Daniel was responsible for managing all USAID-funded projects in Africa and Asia and later in Eastern Europe. Before joining Opportunity USA, Daniel also worked as the first Branch Manager for Sinapi Aba Trust (SAT) in Accra - Ghana, SAT is the leading microfinance institution in Ghana and a member of the Opportunity International Network. In Ghana, Daniel also worked as a Financial Analyst for Africa Century Advisors – a financial and management consulting firm in Kumasi, Ghana. In the US, Daniel is currently employed as the Finance Manager for Gerber Plumbing Fixtures (GPF) responsible for Gerber’s financial and management reporting for both USA and Canada operations. Daniel has traveled over 22 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America.

Daniel Aboagye holds a dual MBA degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems (MIS) from TSU, United States of America (USA). Daniel is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the US. Daniel also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc. Admin) degree in accounting from University of Ghana (School of Business Administration), Legon. Daniel is also the current Vice President of Business Development for Ghana-USA Chamber of Commerce (GUSACC) headquartered in Chicago IL, USA. GUSACC is a not-for-profit organization engaged in the promotion of business between Ghana and USA. At GUSACC, Daniel is responsible for initiating, developing and managing GUSACC’s business development programs and activities. Daniel serves as a Senior Management Consultant for ACE for the development and implementation of an entrepreneurial curriculum targeted for university students in Africa. ACE is currently operating in Ghana.
